Know all Men by these Presents that I Samuel Gardner Governor of
Charlestown, in the County of Washington and State of Rhode Island & Providence, and Resident
Charlestown his wife, HAVE for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred
and twentyfive Dollars to me in hand well and truly paid by Joseph Wright
of Charlestown Gentleman the Right where of we hereby acknowledge and concede
the same fully Satisfied Content and paid. Do by these Presents Give Grant Barg
Sell Alien Convey Release Convey and Confirm unto the said Joseph Wright
and to his Heirs and Assigns forever the Home where we reside now or
of the Home called the property of Christopher Obadiah as was assigned to
us in the Division of the Estate together with the Right of Way whereas it stood
and where it extended including a part of the Barn yard assigned to us as aforesaid
with all the privileges and Appurtenances thereto belonging for himself
Heirs and to his Heirs and Assigns forever also for his and their use
forever a hundred & fifty Bushels of Corn per year. And we the said Samuel Gardner
& Elizabeth Gardner his lawfully wedded Covenant with the said Joseph Wright
that we will warrant the Premises hereunto conveyed the true Sole and Absolute owner of
them and I Samuel Gardner the Vendor have and Satisfied the Vendor's to be delivering
the same in manner as has been done to the said Joseph Wright whereas the said
Title are Only’ and further that the said Vendor Gardner whether hindered
or prevented from the said Premises either by fraud or Error from returning
or Meditation and that the same is free from all encumbrances now or in the future whereas we the said Samuel Gardner
& Elizabeth Gardner our successors our heirs Executors and Administrators lawfully
and properly shall and will defend the same I refer the above described Premises and
Convey that the said Joseph Wright & to his Heirs and Assigns forever Do Confirmation
whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals their presence by the day of Monday
the 24th of August 1832
