TO ALL PERSONS TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME:
I, DAVID E. MILLS, Collector of Taxes, for the Town of Charlestown, County of
Washington and State of Rhode Island, for the year, 1932,
SEND GREETING: WHEREAS the taxpayers of said Town of Charlestown, at their annual
Financial Town Meeting duly notified and held on the 11th day of April, A. D. 1932, voted
that a tax of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) on each one hundred dollars valuation
of the real estate and personal tangible property in said Town, be assessed on the
15th day of June, A. D. 1932, and which tax was assessed in accordance with said vote on the
15th day of June, A. D. 1932, and the tax bill in due form delivered to me with the warrant
duly signed attached thereto, by the Town Treasurer of said Town, requiring me to proceed
according to law and collect said tax and place the same in the Town Treasury of said Town.
AND WHEREAS, Charles S. Harry, resident of said Town, neglected to pay the tax assessed against him as
expressed in said tax bill amounting to the sum of One Dollar and Twenty-Five Cents ($1.25),
and in consequence thereof I did on the 15th day of June, A. D. 1933, levy said warrant upon
a certain tract of land belonging to said Charles E. Harry, in said Charlestown, and did
advertise the same for sale at three public places in said Charlestown, viz: Town Clerk's
Office, Town Hall, Gavitt's Filling Station, and other places in said Town, and also
in the Westerly Daily Sun, a newspaper published in the Town of Westerly, Rhode Island,
for more than twenty days previous to said sale, and on the 17th day of July, A. D. 1933, at
ten o'clock, A. M., Daylight Saving Time, I proceeded to sell at Public Auction the premises
as aforesaid, and Edwin Bivner, of Charlestown, Rhode Island, was the highest bidder therefor.
NOW, KNOW THAT, in consideration of the sum of Thirteen Dollars and Eighty-Six
Cents ($13.86) to me paid by said Edwin Bivner, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge,
I do hereby sell and convey unto the said Edwin Bivner, his heirs and assigns, forever, all
the right, title, and interest which said Charles E. Harry had in and to said premises at the
time of assessing said tax, with all the appurtenances thereto belonging, for a description
of said premises reference is hereby had and made and the same made a part of this instrument,
to deed on record in Land Evidence Book No. 17, Page No. 65, in the Town Clerk's office of
said Town of Charlestown.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same to the said Edwin Bivner, his heirs and assigns, for-
ever, (subject to the right of redemption as provided by law).
And I, the said David E. Mills, Collector of Taxes, as aforesaid, do covenant with
the said Edwin Bivner, his heirs and assigns, that I have advertised said property as herein-
before stated and have complied with the terms of the law regulating the collection of taxes.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of July
A. D. 1933.
