I, LORETTA P. HIGGINS, of the City of Norwich, County of New London, State of
Connecticut for consideration paid, grant to HOWARD E. THORP, of the Town of Westerly,
County of Washington, State of Rhode Island with MORTGAGE COVENANTS, to secure the
payment of One Thousand two hundred (1200) Dollars in five (5) years with interest at
six (6) per centum, per annum, payable semi-annually in advance as provided in a certain
negotiable promissory note of even date herewith.
That certain real estate situated in Charlestown, County of Washington in the
State of Rhode Island, and described as follows:
A certain tract or parcel of land situated on the northerly side of the
highway about one and one-half (1 1/2) miles east from the west end
of Charlestown Pond at Quonochontaug, Rhode Island Beach etc etc, in said town
Town of Charlestown and bounded and described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at the southeast corner thereof at a stone bound set in the
ground by the westerly side of the highway, thence running northerly three hundred
seven hundred thirty-five feet, more or less, and through another stone
bound set by Charlestown Pond, thence running easterly along the shore line of
Charlestown Pond five hundred (500) feet, more or less, to the northerly
stone bound marking the northeast corner thereof, thence running southerly, thence
southerly through a stone bound seven hundred thirty-two (732) feet,
marking the east side of the highway aforesaid, at the southeast corner of the
premises hereby conveyed, thence running westerly three hundred fifteen
(315) feet, more or less, to the point and place of beginning. Bounded
southerly by said highway and northerly by the land of the heirs of Thomas
Arnold, northerly by Charlestown Pond and westerly by land of Olga W.
Bartlett by leeway other than the highway.
Meaning and intending to convey the same premises conveyed to this
mortgagor by Howard E. Thorp by deed dated September 9, 1931 and duly
recorded in the Land Evidence Records of said Charlestown.
As appurtenance to this mortgage I hereby convey to the mortgagee, his
heirs and assigns a right of way to cross and recross at all times and
for all purposes over a strip of land five (5) feet in width extending
from the public highway to the ocean over and across the west five feet
of Lot A as shown and described on the plat attached hereto.
This mortgage is made upon the STATUTORY CONDITION and with the STATUTORY
POWER OF SALE.

In Westerly on the 10th day of September, 1932 before me personally appeared
Loretta P. Higgins to me known and known by me to be the person executing the foregoing
instrument, and she acknowledged said instrument, by her executed, to be her free act
and deed.

I, the undersigned, having received full payment and satisfaction of the within mortgage,
recorded in the records of land evidence in the town of Charlestown in the State of Rhode
Island in Land Evidence Problem Book No. 145 Page 190, hereby cancel and discharge the same.
And I covenant to and with the person making said payment that I am the present owner of
said mortgage. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of
November, 1935.
