KNOW ALL MEN by these presents, that I Edward S. Brown & Providence of
Providence county Commonwealth of Massachusetts and State of Rhode Island in consideration of the
sum of ten dollars to me paid by Joseph Gilman of the City and County of Providence
and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge, do hereby remise, release
and forever quit claim with the said Joseph Gilman with his heirs successors who ever shall
and may claim the right title interest title interest title and interest in and around
to the following described lot of land situated in the city of Providence state of Rhode Island and contained
title "Lot 4" located in ward one Providence in ward one Providence and described
as follows Beginning at the southwest corner of said lot at the intersection of the
corner of East street and South street in Providence in Rhode Island vicinity corner on the
street boundary July we run east to corner of some distance 10 feet wide in a direction
we run south 50 feet in a line parallel with the southern boundary of said lot
and seventy feet north west to the shore of the Narragansett Bay and then
by the shore boundary in a westerly direction and then south some distance
running in westerly direction and then east 50 feet to the corner of the same
Being a portion of the land marked on the survey boundary indicated the "Lot 4" located of
broad way on the northeast side in ward one running east a distance 10 feet and then
north 50 feet, 172 feet east along boundary of Lot 3 then south some distance
until it reaches the intersection of the boundary of Lot 4
To have and to hold the
parcel with all its rights privileges profits and appurtenances thereunto belonging
and unto the said Joseph Gilman his heirs forever all men whatsoever
further that I the aforesaid Edward S. Brown do grant and convey and for my
heirs successors and administrators so and so on’s with the said Joseph Gilman his
heirs and assigns that I will and shall warrant and defend the said land
premises unto the said Joseph Gilman his heirs and assigns from any and all
claims against the same and against any person or persons claiming any interest
in the same
In witness whereof I have made my mark to the said instrument
on which it is evidenced of the same part and seal witness we are
and join our hands and seals unto the said instrument in the presence and signing
all my right marks onto the said instrument and sealing ceremony
On the testimony of me I make recension to this instrument and witness that
on the day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy five

appeared Edward S. Brown and made oath to me he known and that he
be the one in the handwriting presenting the same instrument with him
he acknowledged and signed his name to the instrument to be their act
