Back — where this land came from

This instrument states no source of title that we have read yet.

Forward — where this land went

⛔ The record we hold stops here: no later instrument we have read cites this one, and no later conveyance by the grantee is linked by name. The index is complete to 1987, but only about half the instruments of 1936-1965 have been transcribed (some 6,000 were never imaged), and nothing after 1965 has been, so a citation to this deed may sit in a page not yet read.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office at said Norwich, this 17 day of Dec. A. D. 1947. Attest: J. Dyer Potter Registrar (L. S.) Received for record January 12th, A. D. 1948 at 10:40 o'clock, a. m., and recorded by [Signature] Town Clerk ---- STATE OF CONNECTICUT, } ss. REGISTRAR'S OFFICE TOWN OF NORWICH Dec 17 1947. New London County; I HEREBY CERTIFY, that Mabel Elaine Hull died at Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, on the 5 day of Sept. A. D. 1941, as appears by the records of said Town of Norwich relating to the Registration of Deaths occurring in said Town. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office, at said Norwich, this 17 day of Dec. A. D. 1947. Attest: J. Dyer Potter Registrar (L. S.) Received for record January 12th, A. D. 1948 at 10:42 o'clock, a. m., and recorded by [Signature] Town Clerk ---- AFFIDAVIT I, MARY L. HULL, over twenty-one (21) years of age and residing at 7 Nelson Place, Norwich, Connecticut, depose and state as follows: I am the only living child born to Mabel Clark Hull and Robert E. Hull, the only other child born to them having died in infancy. Both my father and mother are deceased; my mother died on September 5, 1941, and my father on June 12, 1946. Neither my mother nor my father left any will. Both estates were probated in Norwich, where they lived at the time of their death; final accounting has been approved by the Norwich Probate Court and all indebtedness of both estates taken care of. At the time of her death, my mother, Mabel Clark Hull, was sole owner of Lots Nos. Mine Hundred Twelve (912) and Mine Hundred Thirteen (913) in the Charlestown-By-The-Sea section of Charlestown, Rhode Island. Inasmuch as they were the only asset of my mother and my father in Rhode Island, this land was not included with inventories of my mother's and father's estates filed with the Probate Court in Norwich, and no probate proceedings were ever instituted in Rhode Island. Insofar as these two lots are concerned, the title still remains in my deceased mother. My father's interest ceased with his death and I as the only child and heir am desirous of selling these lots to Leonard K. Squier and Margaret B. Squier, and as a part of the inducement to them to purchase these lots to Leonard K. Squier and Margaret B. Squier, I am executing this affidavit setting out the above facts and further warranting that there are no outstanding debts of my mother or my father; and inasmuch as my mother died over six (6) years ago, and as there are no creditors of any sort of my mother and father, I am supplementing this affidavit with a full warranty deed transferring these lots to Leonard K. Squier and Margaret B. Squier with full warranty covenants and further warrant that should any creditors appear who might establish a claim against these lots I will warrant and defend these claims and hold Leonard K. Squier and Margaret B. Squier harmless in regard to all
