Know all Men by these presents that I, John Gorton of the Town of North
Kingstown in the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations
Gentleman of the said Town and in the Province of New England
Being of sound Mind and Memory do make and publish this my
Last Will and Testament in the manner following That I do give and
bequeath unto my beloved Wife Mary Gorton all my Lands and Tenements
lying and being in the Town of North Kingstown in the said Colony
and Province and also all my Messuages and Tenements in the said Town
and also my House and Garden situated in the said Town and also
all my Cattle and other Chattels and Goods and Gear and
all my Household Furniture and all my Wearing Apparel and
all my Plate and Jewelry and all my Books and Papers and
all my Money and other Estate of what kind or nature soever
which I now possess or shall hereafter possess or acquire
and also I give and bequeath unto my Son John Gorton the sum
of five pounds for his portion of my Estate and also I give and
bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the sum of five pounds
and also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah the sum
of five pounds and also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter
Elizabeth the sum of five pounds and also I give and bequeath
