404 Know all men by these Presents that I Samuel Townsend [illegible] shipwright of ye Town of Newport in ye Colony of Rhode Island within ye bounds Mortgage d to be by hereby Acknowledge that I have Received of [illegible] in behalf of ye Town of Newport Received of Thomas Dewitt in behalf of ye Whole Mortgagee the Sum of Two Thousand Hundred and Sixty Pounds Sterling and the same being in full for ye Money Mortgage d Within said Part of Mortgage to be offs to all’d Satisfied and Done and So do therefore as Town Treasurer as aforesaid the said Dewitt Release and Quit Claim unto said [illegible] pertaining here these Premises Abode [illegible] [illegible] as a Right Title absolute Property to me & Town of Newport which ye Town of Newport now Ought to have be it known & ye Premises Mentioned in said Mortgage and all parts of Money Due thereon Without In Witness whereof the said Samuel Townsend Town Treasurer as aforesaid have here with set my hand and seal at Newport this Twenty the Day of April in ye Sixth Year of his Majestys Reign George the Third King of Great Britain 1769 Samuel Townsend [seal] Town Treasurer Signed Sealed and Delivered in Presence of me Thos Townsend James Goddard N.T.U. 2129 7.165 The above Discharge the Monday ye 9th Day of June 1769 by me Jno Harvey T.
