Bounded on the north by the first Beginning at a Rock by the Highway running then North thirteen De- grees N. forty two Chains and fifty Links running upon the hand of the Witness William Saunders searched to a bear of Stones then South forty two Degrees West one Chain and fifty Links, to a White Oak then South three Degrees South One Degree West one Chain and twenty two Links to a Red Oak then from then South thirty one Degrees East one Chain and seventy Links to a Rock East with the down from then South east by the forty two Degrees West one Rock on the North end of the Wall of bounded on the Land belonging to the Estate of the late Joseph Clark deceased; then from bounded on the Highway to the Rock first mentioned containing one acre and four perches more or less with all the mines ore’s metals with all the rivers lakes streams thereunto belonging. Westerly, 4th April 1779 Personally appeared the above named Mr Benjamin Saunders and acknowledged the above Instrument to be his Act & Deed, Hand & Seal Before Joseph Constable Just Pce To all People to whom these Presents shall come I George Hazard Resident of Westerly in the County of Washington Yeoman land Gentry, Whereas the General Assembly at their Session at Newport in Sumr 1782 granted a Lease for the disposing the Real Estate of the said George Hazard Resident of Providence in Charlestown in the County of Washington in following sale all the Land, buildings Dwellings Enclosures and tenements which the said George Hazard Resident in said Charlestown, containing of about thirty three Acres And said General Assembly appointed Mr. Permanent Cust. [illegible] Trustees upon the said Land in South Kingstown in the County upon d And William Davis Gent of Newport Director or Trustees for the forsaid and overall Performance of the same And in Consideration of some value of the said and herewith Performance of the same And in Consideration of some value of the said George Hazard Resident for my self my Heirs Executors and Admins by these Presents do grant alien employ, convey and confirm unto the aforesaid Trustees to be governed administered to and for the Use of those who should be fortunate in the Draft of the aforesaid 33 acres the said Buildings Enclosures and Appurtenances as aforesaid And that the said Assignees or venturers named to have full Power and Lawful Authority to convey the same Lands Buildings and Demises to any All those who should be fortunate in drawing any one or more of said Lots agreeable to said Scheme to have and to hold forsaid Lands and Enclosures with all the Privileges and Appurtenances the same to be foregoing as aforementioned the said Trustees for the Use aforesaid And the said George Hazard Resident for himself his Heirs Executors Admins do covenant and grant to and with the aforementioned Trustees that at this present Time he is the true free and lawful Owner of the same aforesaid and hath good Right full Power and Lawful Authority to dispose of the same in Manner as aforesaid justly and clearly exempted from all Incumbrances of what Name or Nature soever And I the said George Hazard Resident for myself my Heirs Executors and Admins do promise the said and any aforesaid warrant secure and defend with the aforementioned Trustees for the Use aforesaid And Sarah the Wife of me this first George Hazard Resident doth by these Presents assign all her Right of Dowry and Power of Thirds of and with the above granted Premises unto them the aforesaid Trustees for the Use aforesaid W.
