280 The following Note, Mr. Ezekiel Gardner requested might be entered upon these Records, in order to show that the Lands which Ezra Crandall Mortgaged to Saml Cross by his Deed of Mortgage bearing Date the 24th Day of June AD 1776 for the securing the Payment of the Sum of One Thousand and Twenty Pounds, on or before the 28th Day of March AD 1777 and which same Mortgage Deed was voided by the said Samuel Cross on the 6th Day of April AD 1777 is legally owed and made payable to him the said Ezekiel is titled & these Lands chargeable & liable for the Payment of the same Sums in addition whereas is expected in the s. Action Debt (dec.) (viz) Charlestown, August the 1st AD 1777 No 1 I, Ezra Crandall received from you promise to pay unto Ezekiel Gardner or his Order on Demand Twenty four Dollars and Two Shillings lawful, with Interest until paid as my Hand Eber Crandall Eber Crandall South Kingstown, April the 9th AD 1778 No 2 I, Ezra Crandall received from you promise to pay unto Ezekiel Gardner, or his Order Six Pounds lawful Money on Demand with Interest until paid as my Hand Eber Crandall Eber Crandall Charlestown, June the 11th AD 1778 No 3 I, Ezra Crandall received from you promise to pay unto Ezekiel Gardner or his Order the Sum of Thirty Nine and a Half Dollars, on Demand, with Interest until paid as my Hand Eber Crandall The foregoing Notes were recorded the 16th of January 1779 By Jos Bongdon C.
