To all People to whom these Presents shall come, Sherman Clarke of Newport in the County of Newport in the Colony of Rhodeisland and Providence Plantation in New England Morpheus One of the Sons and Devisees of John Clarke late of Newport aforesaid Former deceased and Catherine his Wife greeting Know ye That they the said Sherman Clarke and Catherine his Wife Greeting Know ye That they the said Sherman Clarke and Catherine his Wife Greeting For and in Consideration of the Sum of One thousand seventy seven pounds Spanish pieces of Eight Milled & stamped Value in Hand upon the Execution hereof well and truly paid by Joseph Congdon of Charlestown in the County of Newport in the Colony aforesaid in the Receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and forevermore hereby fully satisfied contented Newport March 1st 1770 Personally appeared Shearman Clarke and Catherine Clarke his Wife and acknowledged the above Instrument by them Subscribed to be their Act and Deed Before Saml Bowers Justice Peace The above Deed was Recorded the 30 day of May 1770 by J. Congdon Sc To all People to whom these Presents shall Come, a William Clarke of Newport in the County of Consent of Newport in the Colony of Rhode Island & Providences Plantations in New England situate One of the Sons and Descendants of John Clarke Late of Newport since [illegible] Deceased Said William Clarke for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred seventy seven pounds thirteen Shillings paid to him a Due Sum of Money in Hand before the Executing hereof well and truly paid by Congdon of Eastshore in the County of Consent in the Colony of Rhode Island I hereby the Receipt hereof I do hereby acknowledge and by this Writing fully satisfied contented and paid, through and through, and of every Part and Parcel hereof to separate, assign and deliver him the said Joseph Congdon his Heirs Convenants and Administrators forever by these Presents his Heirs granted parts beyond boundaries all extended, conveyed and confirmed and by these Presents do fully formally and absolutely give grant bargain sell confirm assign and convey unto him the said Joseph Congdon his Heirs and offsers forever the one and only parcel of a Certain Messuage or Dwelling House and Tract of Land situate lying and being in Charlestown aforesaid known by the Name of John Clarke's Tenure containing by Estimation about two hundred and Twelve Acres be the same more or less and is bounded Easterly and partly Southerly on Land of John Hall westerly on Land late to the said Joseph Congdon Westerly on Piggmont Reach and Northerly on Congdon's River Together with all the rights singular the House Building Wooding Water Ways Water rights the Like &c Privileges Improvements meadows Heritaments and Appurtenances whatsoever unto the hereby granted promised for better enjoying or in any wise appertaining what the Premises and Amendments thereof what all the Estate Right Title Interest the Possession Property Claim and Demand whatever all the said William Clarke of in and to the premises hereby granted and conveyed part and Parcel hereof To have and to hold the said granted and bargained Premises with all the Appurtenances Tenements and Commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Joseph Congdon his Heirs and offsers forever to him his heirs and offsers one only proper His Receipt and Holden forever And the said William Clarke for himself his Heirs Servants and Omnis successors do covenant promise and grant to and with the said Joseph
