148 Know All Men by these Presents that I S. Nicholas Clarke of North town in the County of Washington State of Rhode Island do hereby grant and and in consideration of four Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid before the Executing and Delivery hereof by Henry Clarke and Joshua Clarke both of the same Town County and State aforesaid my Governor The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and am thereby contented and paid and do hereby Give Grant Bargain Sell and Convey unto the said Henry and Joshua Clark their Heirs and Assigns forever One Certain lot or parcel of Land lying in said Northtown containing by Estimation Thirty few Acres the same more or less and bounded as follows beginning at the Southwest corner of George Gorton's Land purchased of Charles Burdick of the South west corner boundary only on the North Road until it comes to the Southeast corner of Jerry Garden's North boundary continuing on the garden lot until it comes to the corner of said Garden from there North easterly by a stone wall until it comes to a dwell house there North easterly on the wall Stone wall until it comes to an edge Rock on the hill at the end of said Stone there North westerly to the South west corner of the Daboll wood lot there North Easterly bounding on the North side on wood lot of John Potter there North easterly bounding North easterly by wood stakes Land of John Potter there South easterly bounding North easterly by wood stakes Land of John Potter there South easterly 180 rods and South westerly by wood stakes Land of the said Daboll to the place of Beginning To Have and to hold all and the above described Premises with all the Privileges and Appurtenances there with the said Henry and Joshua Clarke their Heirs and Assigns forever to them and their heirs and assigns forever Unrestricted and free of all liens and I the said S. Nicholas Clarke promptly as my Heirs Executors Administrators their Heirs and Assigns do hereby covenant and agree with the said Henry and Joshua Clarke their Heirs and Assigns that all sum of money said Premises shall be free aforesaid Premises that they are free from all Sums burdens Rentss profits from the North Road through and about and to and from said Daboll dwell house And will Warrant Seize and Defend the above described Premises against them the said Henry and Joshua Clarke their Heirs and Assigns as aforesaid In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty second day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred and twenty seven (1827) Presence of witnesses Sarah Ann Stanton Samuel Stanton Nicholas Clarke P.D.
