147 To all People to witness That whereas Thomas Gorton Settler in the Town of Narragansett Town Administrator upon the Estate of Samuel Gorton late of Charlestown in the County of Kent in the Jurisdiction of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations’ He be now one of the executors appointed to the said Estate and as such is bound to pay the just debts of the said deceased and said Samuel Gorton at the time of his decease was seized in fee simple within the County of Kent in the said Jurisdiction of Rhode Island late of the Town of Charlestown in the said County a certain piece of land called the Gorton’s Tenement to be further described by the more particular bounds and descriptions hereunder set forth Whereas the said Thomas Gorton as aforesaid the said Samuel Gorton being and aforementioned in wit of the better use of the house and tenement and for securing the same to the said Thomas Gorton and the heirs of his body and the heirs of his daughter Dorothy’s bodies’ said Samuel the said Samuel Gorton had by a certain indenture made between the said Samuel Gorton and the said Thomas Gorton the said Samuel Gorton being late of the Town of Charlestown in the said County acting and undertaking the said Samuel Gorton’s interest in the said premises to be and void and null and void in the said Benjamin Gorton said Samuel’s Grandson’s expectation with the said Thomas Gorton the said Samuel the said Samuel Gorton had set over the said Thomas Gorton’s interest in the said premises to the said Thomas Gorton and his heirs forever now therefore the said Thomas Gorton by these presents does grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Benjamin Gorton and his heirs forever all that certain piece of land called the Gorton’s Tenement containing eleven acres and three perches more or less within the said Town of Charlestown in the said County of Kent containing eleven acres and three perches more or less within the said Town of Charlestown in the said County of
