Know all Men By these Presents that Joseph Green of
Charlestown in the County of Washington in the State of Rhode Island and
Providence jurisdiction named Grantor For the Consideration of one hundred and thirty Five pounds
Sterling to me in hand paid for the sealing these Indenture of the aforesaid land
Greenman for the purchase of a house is hereby Acknowledged to be my full satisfaction
have Given Granted bargained and Sold Conveyed and Confirmed unto the said
Israel Moore his heirs and Assigns forever all that Certain Tract or Piece of
Land Lying Situated or being in the aforesaid Town of Greenwhich as follows
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of Samuel Thurgood's Lot known
by the Name of Black Oak tree at the road thence running North 35 Degrees
or thereabouts East 40 rods then standing on the March of Patrick Moore running
Easterly on Samuel Thurgood's Land North easterly on Patrick Moore's West line
on Benjamin Worden's Land Southerly on the Road until come to the
North mentioned Bounds Containing by Estimation thirty nine Acres
but the same more or less
To have and to hold all of the above granted Premises Lot or Piece
of Land with all the Appurtenances thereon or thereto belonging or appur
taining by his or their only use benefit of himself and his legal heirs and the said
Joseph Green for my sole life my heirs executors and Adminis trators close to
Covenant and agree to covenant and with the said Israel Moore his heirs and
Assigns that before this and the Devising hereof that I said Joseph Green am
the true and Lawful Owner of the aforesaid Land and am lawfully
seized of the same in my own right and a good Estate of substance
in me simple to have in my sole good right and full Power and lawful
authority to Give grant and Convey and Confirm the same in manner
and form as aforesaid and that the said Israel Moore his heirs and Assigns
shall and may forever Inherit have hold use and reposs the same
freely and Clearly argued and Delivered of and from all other Gifts grants
sales liens mortgages estates tenures encumbrances whatever Reserving more over
the said Joseph Green to August my sole life my heirs executors and Adminis trators
to Covenant and engage the aforesaid Premises within the aforesaid frame
of the said term and Assigns against the Lawful Claims and Demands of any
Person or Persons Appertaining thereto whatever claimed and demanded the same by this
Indenture witness my hand and seal and date this 31 Day of May in
the year of our Lord 1811.
