Before me Nelson Conant Justice of Peace State of New York ss Columbia County County ss On the 14th day of May 1864 Before me Subscriber cum [illegible] Ross and Mary I as Judge when I know to be the persons described in my and who executed the amended power of attorney, and acknowledged that they executed the same, and the said Mary, for a private separation by and before me and said instrument having been shown and explained to her she after her hand acknowledged that she executed the same fully without any fear or compulsion of her husband Howard Mary Justice of the Peace State of New York ss Columbia County County Clerk's office L. S. I hereby certify that Howard Mary Esq Justice of the Peace in [illegible] been taken as at the date of this future Justice of the Peace in U. S. P. Clark his wife their Guardians and Sarah his wife, and gave to the Clerk the power to me [illegible] to be the persons named in and who executed the mentioned power of attorney, and severally acknowledged that they executed the same of their own free will and accord and that Samuel Clark Clerk and Oleanor his wife and Samuel Clark, Marie M. R. wife of said William R. Clark Clerk and Sarah wife of said John [illegible] on a private conversation separate and apart from their said Husbands, and said instrument being by me shown and explained to them, severally acknowledged that they executed the same for themselves and without any fear or compulsion of their said husbands, and they do not wish to retract the same.
