33 Brook or however otherwise known as, also three tracts of marsh land in said Town lying between the out lots of Charlestown and being the same Estates that they conveyed to his honored said father with all buildings and appurtenances excepting from this conveyance the leases within said premises which was before mined by George W Cross one of the Grantors herein to and unto the said Joseph Cross & his assigns forever. In witness whereof we have set our hands and seals this ninth day of January A D one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Executed in presence of Robert J Clark Joseph H Griffin George W Cross L S Samuel J Cross L S Stephen B Cross L S William D Cross L S Washington Co Charlestown January 9th 1854 Personally came before me George W Samuel J Stephen B & William D Cross and acknowledged this instrument by them signed to be their free and voluntary act Joseph H Griffin Justice of the Peace This indenture or Lease made and executed by & between Joseph Cross of Charlestown in the County of Washington state of Rhode Island & George W Cross, Samuel J Cross, Stephen B Cross William D Cross Sons of said Joseph Cross Witnesseth that the said Joseph Cross binds in consideration of the sums received herein contained to lease and serve to him and their Real Estate lying in said Charlestown along the road to their natural wharf excepting the East half of the house of the dwelling House to them their executors heirs Assignments & assigns Given the said George W Samuel J Stephen B & William D Cross agree to furnish the said Joseph Cross during his life and Health to his house with a comfortable lodging shed as he may desire & need whether sufficient is to be for carrying the brew of his said Josephs natural life & to furnish proper nourishing & attention in sickness to have the privilege of keeping a horse and oats to pay their incidental expenses as may be necessary or as he may desire In witness our hands & seals this 9th day of January 1854 Joseph Cross L S George W Cross L S Samuel J Cross L S Stephen B Cross L S William D Cross L S Per Presence of Robert J Clark Joseph H Griffin Washington Co Charlestown January 9th 1854 Personally came before me Joseph H Cross & acknowledged the foregoing instrument to be his free and voluntary act Joseph H Griffin Justice of the Peace Received Jan 26th 1854 by Elias Cross L S
