243 Am I the said Richard C Ringen for the sum of my heirs devise to and Administrations to convent with the said Richard his this and assign. But at all and above the presenting instrument I am the lawful owner A my undivided Share of the Same and that will warrant seem clear and defend the same to him from the suit saids his heirs and assigns forever against all rightful claims any manner of all sort I Amy wife of said Richard Ringen for the consideration to fore mentioned having signed my consent to my right of dower to the same In testimony whereof we have set our hand and seals this 13th day of April 1853 [Signature] Richard C Ringen & s [Signature] Amy I Ringen & s Washington, at Richmond [blank] on this a sale within witnessed occasionally on a Sarah C Ringen negroe and slave in the following instrument and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed was [Signature] Hazen Rice Recorded 15 May 1853 By G. Coffin Clerk Know all men by these presents That I Peter B Collins of Hopkinton in the State of Rhode Island County of Bristol of Arnold's Masters in said State Is constituted by deed of sale of said slave dated January 5 1852 and recorded in Nuttycut records book No 19 page 192 1852 and in Hopkinton records book No 11 page 174 to which deed reference is here made To by these presents give grant bargain sell convey and convey Elizabeth a Negro woman said Masterly his heirs his assigns and assigns forever to be the rightful bidder having bidden therefore on a public sale held on the 6th of October 1852 having bidden therefore the sum of five hundred and twenty dollars the which sum here acknowledge to have been paid by him and by me received all the right title and interest either active or dormant which by the said slave Arnold was conveyed in and by the deed of assignment aforesaid in any the two center lots of land described in the said deed of assignment as a part of the town of Charlestown containing about eighty six Ors of tenths acre with a dwelling house barn and other improvements thereon for further description of which reference is here made to two tain deeds as said Arnold on from Thomas I Shurtleff some of Partown Ringen recorded in book 187 page 163 of the land records of the Charlestown the other from Daniel I Seabbrooch recorded in some book page 336 It being however here expressly stipulated that the said slave form is subject to a lease expiring on the 25th of March 1853 the rent reserved by which is owned by and is to be paid to the under signed grantor And also it is expressly stipulated (such having one of the conditions named at said public sale) that the said slave Is and shall ever continue to be subject to a right on the part of John & Meader his heirs and assigns as the owners or owner of the Arnold Mills below to maintain and keep up a dam at the height of
