At A Meeting of the Stockholders of the New York, Providence and Boston Rail
Road Company called to meet at Providence this 27th day of December 1837 the follow
ing Vote was passed:
Resolved That Caleb Cushing Esquire President of this Corporation to
and he be hereby Constituted and Appointed the Special Agent of this Corporation to
full Power Cause and Authority for and in behalf of this Corporation to acknowledge and
to execute to execute by hand Professor Macpherson's Office in the State of New York and
to Constitute the said Agent given in trust by the Stockholders of this Corporation I’m’d
